  • Breading: 60 g (1/2 cup) cornstarch, 120 ml (1/2 cup) unsweetened plant-based milk, 60 g (1/2 cup) panko breadcrumbs, 2 tbsp white sesame seeds, 1 tbsp black sesame seeds, 1/2 tsp sea salt, 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • Dipping Sauce (optional): 2 tbsp vegan mayonnaise, 1 tbsp sriracha, 1 tsp lime juice

Instructions

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 210°C (425°F) and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
Marinate the Tofu:
Whisk soy sauce, maple syrup, olive oil, smoked paprika, and garlic powder in a bowl. Add tofu cubes and toss to coat. Let marinate for 10 to 15 minutes.
Set Up Breading Stations:
Arrange cornstarch in one bowl, plant-based milk in another, and combine panko, sesame seeds, salt, and pepper in a third bowl.
Bread the Tofu:
Dredge each tofu cube in cornstarch, dip in plant-based milk, then coat thoroughly in panko mixture.
Bake:
Place coated tofu cubes on prepared sheet and lightly brush or spray with oil. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, turning halfway, until crisp and golden.
Prepare Sauce:
Mix vegan mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice until smooth.
