Save A festive and edible holiday bowl made entirely from peppermint candies. It’s perfect for serving treats or gifting goodies, and the best part is there’s no baking required.
One winter, I made this candy bowl with my kids and we filled it with homemade mint cookies. Everyone loved the bright colors and edible presentation at our holiday party.
Ingredients
- Peppermint hard candies: 30 to 36 round, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat Oven:
- Set your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Prepare Baking Sheet:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Arrange Candies:
- Position peppermint candies in a tightly packed circle on your prepared baking sheet, creating a disc about 8 to 9 inches wide. Make sure the candies are touching.
- Bake:
- Bake for 7 to 9 minutes, watching carefully so the candies melt and fuse but do not brown.
- Cool Briefly:
- Let cool for 1 minute until pliable. Use oven mitts or gloves to avoid burns.
- Shape the Bowl:
- Invert a heatproof bowl upside down. Lift the candy disc with parchment and drape over the bowl, gently pressing sides to shape. Hold for a few seconds.
- Final Cooling:
- Allow to cool completely for about 20 minutes, then remove candy bowl from the mold.
- Peel and Fill:
- Peel off parchment paper. Fill the bowl with holiday treats as desired.
Save We brought out our finished peppermint bowl during a family movie night and were amazed by how quickly it disappeared, everyone reaching for both the candies and the treats inside.
